Other information
Research in other areas: I have a Ph.D. Certificate of Research Proficiency, similar to an ABD status (Suficiencia Investigadora), in North American Literature from the Department of English Studies at the University of Murcia (Spain). My project analyzed the journalistic writings of Ernest Hemingway and its influence in Gabriel García Márquez, in connection with panamerican literary networks and the emergence of the so-called New Journalism in the 1960s. My Research project advisor was Professor Juan Antonio Suárez.
Translation: I often work as a translator for different UIUC Departments and Professional Associations. Some of my translations have appeared in Professional Academic Journals and newsletters. I also work as a volunteer in different translation projects for the Champaign County area schools and non-profit organizations.
